
Life has a way of pulling our attention outward. We take care of people, manage details, and keep things moving — often without thinking twice about it. Caring for others comes naturally, and most of the time, we’re pretty good at it.
Self-Care Sunday is a gentle pause in the middle of all that. A reminder that caring for yourself matters too — not because something is wrong, but because you are part of the equation. This is about starting (or continuing) a self care journey that helps you reconnect with what you enjoy, what grounds you, and what helps you feel like yourself.
Think of this as an invitation, not an obligation.
This week, self-care looks like continuing a self care journey — one that’s flexible, personal, and shaped by what feels right to you.
Before we get into it, a quick note: this is not an assignment. You don’t need to do everything here, and you don’t need to do it all today. Take what feels helpful, skip what doesn’t, or come back to something later. This journey is meant to meet you where you are.
Start with What Brings You Joy
One of the easiest ways to lose yourself is by always focusing on what others need. Over time, it can get harder to answer a simple question: what do I actually enjoy?
Set aside about 10–15 minutes and make a list of things that genuinely make you happy. These can be simple daily self care ideas, things you already love doing, or activities you haven’t made time for lately. You can also include things you’re curious about but haven’t tried yet.
Keep this list somewhere easy to find. As your self care journey continues, this list becomes a reminder that joy doesn’t have to be complicated or earned — it just needs space.

Create a Little Space from the Noise
Technology keeps us connected, informed, and entertained — but it can also keep our attention pulled in a hundred directions. Even small breaks from screens can support a gentler approach to daily self care.
This doesn’t have to be extreme. It might be leaving your phone in another room for part of the evening, taking a walk without earbuds, or reading a few pages of a book without checking notifications. These small moments of quiet can help you feel more present and grounded.
A self care journey isn’t about cutting things out completely — it’s about choosing moments where your attention comes back to you.

Stay Connected to the People Who Matter
Caring for yourself doesn’t only happen when you’re alone. Meaningful connection is an important part of any self care journey.
For me, that looks like a standing Sunday phone call with my grandma. We talk about everyday things — the kids, the weather, sports, and whatever else comes up. I started the call thinking it was something she needed, and quickly realized how much it mattered to me too.
Think about one person you enjoy being around — someone who supports you, encourages you, or simply makes you feel more like yourself. A call, a text, or a coffee date can be a simple but powerful form of self care.
